| | So...I've arrived in one piece and now I just have to survive family type things. I'm thinking I'll head to Bronz around 9:30 and hope to see y'all there. | comments: Leave a comment |
| I just heard this teaser line for the local evening news:
"Plus, big changes at Starbucks starting tomorrow. What you need to know."

| Good: Goal #1 achieved - Yes, I'm the newest server trainee at Ruby Foo's on the Upper West Side. [Read: ritzy neighborhood, but not uptight like the Upper East Side. It's uptight in it's own special way.] I start training Monday and should be on the floor by the following Monday. The sooner I'm making money, the sooner I can look for PA work and get the hell out of the nunnery.
Bad: My wallet was either lost or stolen last night. With a decent chunk of cash in it. All I know is I had it when I paid my tab and I didn't have it this morning. I just got finished canceling all my cards.
Good: There's a chance that my wallet is at the bar I was in last night. They told me to call around 5:30 to check.
Good: My bank is expiditing a new debit card to me. I'll have it tomorrow. Other cards and necessities to follow next week.
Good: Debit card in hand and not starting work until Monday, I can still go to Princeton to see my brother and his family on Saturday.
Bad: My cell phone battery died hardcore. It's been on the charger for 2 hours and will only show a "charging" screen. No calls allowed. I'm worried it's craping out on me.
Good: Strike above comment. It works now that someone called it.
Bad: I promised my aunt that I would mail my cousin's kid's birthday present for her. I didn't get to it yesterday. His birthday is tomorrow and now I have no access to money to pay for shipping.
Questionable: I drank WAAAY too much last night, as I do everytime I end up at Lincoln Park. I think I might have to ban myself from that place. Plus being drunk is just not as much fun as it used to be and probably contributed to the lose of the wallet. Suck. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| | My boss didn't say anything but I just got totally busted trying to kill the last 20 minutes of the day playing on lj, friendster and flickr. Good thing I already quit! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| I figured certain individuals on my friends list will get a kick out of this.
Okay, so my boss is staying at the Four Seasons here in Los Angeles. Logically, one would expect to see some celebrities at this location. Two nights ago I was waiting for my boss at the bar in his hotel. The place was pretty crowded so I didn't think much of it when someone brushed passed me, but I looked towards the swiped arm only to find myself staring down at Larry Flint. P.S. His wheelchair? Gold.
Later, we're sitting around having drinks with some business associate types. The table next to us is occupied by gorgeous young man and fulgy old guy. From their conversation it's pretty obvious they're in the movie biz (shocking, I know). When they got up to leave I got a closer look at them. Fugly old guy? Ron Jeremy (sp?)
Yes, apparently it's porno week at the Four Seasons. Now I'm catching all kinds of teasing from my boss for being able to identify these notorious individuals. I blame the MTV culture of my generation.
P.S. salien and glamfiles, I'm trying to find some time to hook up with you guys before I leave, but so far it's been work 7am to 9 or 10pm and then I pass out. Boo. | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |
| Hello all,
I booked 2 passes to see a free screening of Imagine Me & You at the Esquire next Monday (Feb. 13) at 7:30pm. Now I have to go to New York for work on that day. Anybody want the passes? | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| This would be an angry venting and ranting post except for the fact that I just don't care enough to summon that kind of energy about it any more. Instead this is post is the equivalent of me rolling my eyes at a coworker. As I don't actually have any coworkers in the office, this will have to do.
Seriously, my boss says the most appaling things and has the most whacked out sense of ethics and self importance.
He's getting off the phone. Gotta go. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| | So apparently I'm not coming to LA the week after Thanksgiving (a.k.a. next week) after all. Boo for not getting to see you guys and enjoy the sunshine. Hooray for not being stuck on a week long business trip with my boss. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| The theatre group that I was part of in high school (St. Xavier, for those who don't know) is performing The Laramie Project this coming weekend. I was thinking of going on Friday night. The show is at 7:30pm, tickets are $8.
If you'd would like to come along leave a comment here or give me a call by Thursday and I will reserve tickets. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| | Sadly, I have not magicly landed a job over the weekend and must get on a plane and return to Cincinnati in seven short hours. Fuck a whole lot of this shit. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| 10 things I hate meme: Name 10 things you hate, in no particuar order. Spread the hate by tagging 5 people to do the same
1) Our server is down and it is 10:30pm in Greece so no one is bothering to fix it today. No email for me. 2) Being lied to or otherwise taken advantage of 3) Dragging my lazy ass out of bed 4) Stupidity and/or willful ignorance 5) Boredum, tedium - whatever you want to call that state when the current moment of existence is so blah that I might spontaneously combust from frustration and lack of any sort of excitement or activity. 6) Owning a car 7) Cincinnati (I've wasted waaaay too much time and energy attempting to like this town. It's time to accept my distaste and move on. I can't imagine what could possibly make me believe that this is a good place for me to live.) 8) Hang overs 9) Feeling depressed 10) Wasting my time and energy on hating things
Name ten things you love 1) Feeling free 2) Successfully completing a challenging task 3) Learning new things/new experiences 4) New York City 5) Laughing 6) Perfect weather/Evening drive on the open road at dusk in perfect weather 7) Napping in the sunshine 8) A satisfying meal 9) A good story 10) Backpack, handbags, purses, satchels - you get the idea
